NOC Support Engineer – 24/7 Shifts

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain network systems, servers, and infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted network services.
  • Respond promptly to network alerts and incidents during 24/7 shifts to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineers or management when necessary.
  • Conduct routine system checks and performance monitoring to identify potential issues before they affect network operations.
  • Document all incidents, activities, and resolutions in a clear and concise manner for reference and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network administrators and system engineers, to address network-related problems.
  • Execute scheduled maintenance tasks and updates during off-peak hours to minimize user impact.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and assist with network-related inquiries or problems.
  • Follow established procedures and protocols for incident management and escalation.
  • Adhere to security best practices and ensure network systems are secure and compliant with company policies.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness and attentiveness during night shifts to respond to critical incidents promptly.
  • Participate in ongoing training and skill development to stay updated on network technologies and continuously improve NOC processes and procedures to enhance network reliability and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in a NOC or IT support role, preferably involving 24/7 shift work.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, technologies, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Proficiency in using network monitoring tools and incident management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and adhere to a 24/7 shift schedule.
  • Capacity to remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations.
  • Certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ are a plus.
  • Basic knowledge in different data center components such as CRAC units, Network equipment’s, containments, UPS etc is desirable.
  • Hands On experience working with any ITSM tool.
